From the 1950s, several weaving workshops appeared in Hereke, North-West Turkey, making exceptional silk rugs to a very high standard with strict quality control. This beautifully made piece is a fine example. It exudes charm and sophistication. The knot count is very high, approximately 100 per square centimetre. The materials and dyes are exceptional with a subtle colour palette ideal for modern decoration. The design is beautifully drawn, elegant and uncluttered, yet interesting enough to keep the attention. This collectible gem would be ideal for use as a wall hanging, as a rug, or on a surface.
