Finely knotted in silk with lovely subtle colours, this is a lovely example of Hereke weaving from the second half of the 20th century. The design is taken from the Persia repertoire, but the finesse of the drawing and exquisite choice of colours is very Turkish. Excellent original condition. Professionally cleaned. This is both a very decorative and collectible rug.
