This immaculate embroidered mirror cover probably originates from Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia, and dates to the end of the 19th century. Embroidered in coloured silks on a black velvet background.Striking cosmic ornamentation reminiscent of the designs on felts. Note the silk ikat edges on three sides and the lining to the rear. It also retains the original hanging loops. This is a superb example of Central Asian material culture.
