Influenced by the work of Jean Lurcat, this striking French wool needlepoint makes a strong statement. The central figure of a unicorn is surrounded by stylised flora, a rabbit and a cockerel, all of which are very reminiscent of Lurcat's tapestries. The vivid colouring adds to the 'psychedelic' imagery. Recently cleaned and mounted, it would make a very decorative addition to a contemporary setting.
