Fine Bakhtiari Village Rug

Bakhtiar weaving is often highly underrated. But this is a lovely example of Bakhtiar village rug weaving at its best. It has fine wool with a low clipped pile and a lovely range of natural dyes. Note in particular the acid green and the liver brown border. The design is very pretty with well-arranged stylised floral and tree motifs. However, closer inspection also reveals two interesting anthropomorphic motifs at the base of the field. In lovely condition, and professionally cleaned.
