Fine Karaja Rug

This is a very lovely example of this popular group of North-West Persian rugs. The terracotta background in the field is a beautiful colour, and is centred by three geometric medallions. The central medallion has a very lovely camel colour around the outside. The rest of the field is decorated with myriad stylised floral ornaments. Note two the dramatic border which is wide and decorated with stylised trees and blossoms. The colours are all natural and the wool is exceptionally soft. Very good condition with its original ends and sides intact. Very tactile velvety pile, and fine supple weave. This is a very decorative rug which would add colour and vibrancy to any setting. Professionally cleaned.
