Tibetan Saddle Cover

Tibetan art and textiles continues to fascinate us, while good examples become harder to find. However, this recent find is a truly beautiful weaving. It is a textile with charisma. Originally made as a saddle cover, it appears to have been used very sparingly and only on special occasions. The wool quality is wonderful, soft and fleecy, and it is in excellent condition with an even velvety pile. The abrashed sky-blue field is really catches the eye, and is complemented by the other subtle tones of pink, red, caramel and ivory. The classic field design is lovely, and is matched by the classic ivory border containing ancient symbolism. Professionally cleaned, this rare and striking piece is both collectible and decorative, and would be a very good purchase for a discerning buyer.
