Very Rare Russian Kelim

This is an extremely rare and beautiful carpet. It was probably made in the imperial workshops in St Petersburg where only a handful of carpets were ever made. Loosely based on contemporaneous Aubusson carpets, it has a wonderful design and range of colours. Exceptionally fine tapestry weeaving. Very good condition. A tour-de-force!!
