Nurata Suzani

This is a truly beautiful suzani. The design is very well balanced in the field with the classic Nurata design of shrubs emanating from the corners of the field to the centre. The borders are elegant and give a nice sense of movement with lots of variety in the leaves and flowers. The colours are pale and delicate which gives a very light impression. Note also that the outlines of the ornaments are drawn in a lovely gold silk rather than in brown or black. This is a delightful suzani which create a wonderful hanging or cover in many traditional or contemporary settings.
