Fine Perepedil Rug

This sweet little rug dates to around 1900 and was woven in the Shirvan region of Azerbaijan. The ram\'s horns, stylised birds and \'medachyll\' border normally associated with the town of Perepedil in that region. The rug is woven in a pale palette which became fashionable in the early part of the 20th century. The crisp drawing of the design, the fine weave and thin pile have resulted in a little gem of a rug which would work in many decorative settings. Clean and in very good condition.
