This handsome rug comes from North-West Persia, and was woven in the famous village of Karaja. Finely knotted and woven with soft hand-spun wool. Wonderful natural dyes, in particular very attractive indigo blue background to the field. The design has the characteristic three geometric medallions with other scattered geometric ornament and scattered amulets. Lots of charming minor ornaments. This rug is finely knotted with a low clipped pile. It has very nice proportions and folds like a handkerchief. The rug has been professionally cleaned and is in very good original condition.
