Mid-Century Polish Wool Tapestry

Mid-Century Polish Wool Tapestry

Woven with soft wool in the interlocking tapestry technique, this lovely piece is one of a group of Central European tapestries that were designed to work with contemporaneous furniture which are now very much in vogue with interior designers. The combination of earthy autumnal colours and abstract geometric ornamentation is very attractive and highly decorative. One could imagine this piece is any number of modern settings. Interestingly, it has rings to the back which suggests that it was hanging up along its horizontal axis! Whether landscape or portrait format, on the wall or floor, this great piece would add character and style to modern settings. Note also that this group are still at affordable price levels, but the trend is most definitely upwards.
